12 REASONS WHY I WILL NOT VOTE FOR GMA
I'M BACK from Romblon and Boracay. Pero later na ang kuwento about our (mis)adventures down south.
More or less, I agree with what he wrote (at marami pa akong maidadagdag dito).
12 REASONS WHY I WILL NOT VOTE FOR GMA
by Leon Guerrero
1. She is a liar. In December 2002 she told us she would not seek reelection, but she changed her mind a year after, and made us believe it was a big sacrifice on her part.
2. She loves (hurting) people. In two separate occasions in the past, cameras have vividly captured the President berating General Lastimoso of the LTO and Edgar manda of the MIAA in public, and how she became ecstatic afterwards.
3. She has a doctorate but she certainly needs a doctor. She has a Doctorate in Economics from Harvard but she seems so sick and confused, she could not even cure our ailing economy.
4. She does not carry the real name of her husband. Her real name is Gloria Macapagal-Pidal, not Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.
5. She has a very short memory. She recently said she does not remember Dolphy having a TV sitcom entitled “Home Along the Riles” but a GMA reporter soon discovered that she once guested in the show and apparently enjoyed it.
6. She CLAIMS to be strongly against Terrorism, Smuggling, Jueteng and Drugs but she is surrounded by partymates in Kuratong Baleleng leaders who are bank robbers, kidnappers and drug dealers, by a K4 senatorial bet who is a known smuggler and coddler of a notorious cult leader in Northern Mindanao, and by two big-time jueteng lords from pampanga and Ilocos Sur. Is she a female Robin Hood?
7. She is a credit-grabber. She once reminded soldiers in a parade in Camp Aguinaldo that she was responsible for their pay increase even if she knows she did not initiate it; she recycled the “Study Now, Pay Later” plan of Senator Benigno Aquino and eventually claimed it as her own; she likewise claimed she built thousands of homes for soldiers and policemen despite the fact that ERAP was responsible for most of it.
8. She keeps on blaming others for her failure in governance. The President and her drumbeaters have developed the habit of blaming others everytime the peso falls and for every disaster that befall us.
9. She has no qualms about using people’s money to finance her campaign for the Presidency. The funds she released for the farm implements worth P728 Million which were given to local chief executives, and the P1.4 Billion spent for the “Kalsada Natin, Alagaan Natin” project and PHILHEALTH cards that she distributed in her recent campaign sorties did not come from her own pocket but from government coffers and the OWWA.
10. She has plenty of time for other things but less for governance. The economy is now in shambles and the peace and order situation is the worst in our history because GMA spends plenty of time for things outside of governance. (Really PLENTY!!!)
11. I am sick and tired of her face. I see Gloria’s face on TV many times in a day, on the T-shirts worn by paid street sweepers, on PHILHEALTH cards, and on billboards standing in almost every fifty meters along our roads. Now I am worried I might see her in my dreams. I am dead!!!
12. She is not our last, best hope. At least under her leadership there is still HOPE, but only in cigarettes!
